Ethical Issues Within The Workplace - 1302 Words

The purpose of this paper is to discuss ethical concerns in the workplace. Also, to explain how the ethical concerns are handled, managed and eliminated. My intent is to address the issues within the framework we studied during the course of the ethical theories (Relativism, Utilitarianism, Virtue Ethics, etc.) and compare the situation in which it is handled to such theories. The events will be analyzed within the context of one or more of the ethical approaches we have also studied, such as Kantian/Deontic, Utilitarian (Consequential, Virtue/Character, Fairness/Justice, or common Good approach. It does not pay to be unethical at work, sometimes choices are made that are unethical and consequences must follow. Because banks are federally regulated, they are obligated to conduct certai n trainings on a regular basis. However, the testing may be different based on the knowledge you need. For example, if you work in a back office you need not to be trained on how to handle a bank robbery. In the industry, there will always be a company or individuals who decides to choose to do the wrong thing. One of the most recent examples, Wells Fargo, some of the company’s employees decided to open up fraudulent accounts for its customers. Employees secretly issued credit cards without the customer’s consent.
